Susan is a Senior Advisor for Vanguard Europe and the CEO and founder of Camino SD, a strategic communications and public affairs advisory firm set up in early 2025 in Brussels, Belgium. She holds several Board and senior advisory roles.

Previously, Susan was CEO of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham EU) which speaks for American companies committed to Europe on trade, investment and competitive issues. In this leadership role (2016-2024) she had full strategic and operational responsibility for the association and represented it externally. By 2024, AmCham EU supported over 160 US corporates companies, international business and law and consultancy firms.

Susan has dedicated her entire career to advancing transatlantic cooperation having initially started work at AmCham EU in 1995 as Communications Manager. She was named by POLITICO as one of the top 20 women influencers in Brussels in 2016 and 2020. During her time there, she was also elected Chair of the AmChams in Europe network (50 national AmChams), from 2020-2023.

A graduate of the University of Bath, UK in European Studies/French/German,Susan’s career developed initially in London in marketing and communications within the travel industry, where prior to coming to Brussels she worked for Thomson Tour Operations.

Susan is a dual UK and Belgian citizen and has worked in the UK, Germany, Austria, Spain, and Australia. She is fluent in English, French and German and conversant in Dutch and Spanish. She is married and has three adult children.
